BD-2, Human beta Defensin-2 Recombinant
Catalog # 90107-A
Size: 5 µg
Description: Recombinant human β-
Defensin-2 is a disulfide-linked
monomeric protein consisting of 42
amino acids and migrates as an
approximately 4 kDa protein under
reducing and non-reducing conditions.
Source: Optimized DNA sequence
encoding human β-Defensin-2 mature
chain was expressed in E. coli.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm
filtered solution containing 100 mM
NaCl, 20 mM Phosphate buffer, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution: Reconstitute at 0.1-1.0
mg/mL in distilled water. This solution
can then be diluted into other buffers. To
maximize product collection from vial
surface, vortex briefly and then spin
down to recollect the liquid.
Storage: The lyophilized protein is
stable for at least 2 years from date of
receipt when stored at -20°C. Upon
reconstitution, store in working aliquots
at 2 - 8° C for up to one month, or at
-20°C for up to six months, in the
presence of a carrier protein. Avoid
repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Purity: >98%, as determined by SD-SPAGE
and HPLC.
Endotoxin Level: Endotoxin level was
found to be < 0.1 ng/μg (1EU/μg), using
the LAL gel clot method.
Biological Activity: Determined by its
ability to chemoattract immature human
dendritic cells using a concentration
range of 1-50 ng/ml.
